HOOKER
Struttin down the sidewalkWalking with style and grace
Wearing too much makeup
Is that really your face?
Baby does your momma miss you?
Do you know who your daddy is?
I asked you why you're in business.
You just smiled and said "because"

Amos 5:11-12
11 Therefore because you trample on the poor
and you exact taxes of grain from him,
you have built houses of hewn stone,
but you shall not dwell in them;
you have planted pleasant vineyards,
but you shall not drink their wine.
12 For I know how many are your transgressions
and how great are your sins—
John 11:35
Jesus wept.

It is indeed a sad commentary on the richest nation in the history of man for it's young men and women to be forced into a life of prositution in order to survive. Our "Trampling of the poor" while we eat drink and be merry tells where our treasure truly lies. Years of failed social programs and missmanagement of our education systems is appaling. God knows our hearts and he is not mocked. He knows our transgressions...We will indeed reap what we sow.
The reference to the shortest verse in the bible is when Jesus saw that his friend had died. His response was simple...Jesus wept. How can anyone not see that our inner cities are full of corruption and death and not weep? The rising HIV/AIDS epidemic is just the tip of the iceberg.
The post that is before this one I used in another blog years ago about the same topic here in the US. It still has merit I feel. We still are the richest nation and we still have a global responsibility to our brothers and sisters abroad.
They don't call it the "world's oldest profession" for nothing.
I fear international trade and the internet will only lead to increased exploitation.
In a previous job, I had an opportunity to travel to Dubai. One of the rarely mentioned issues associated with such a wealthy country is how many eastern European and Russian prostitutes work the hotel circuit in the financial center of the Persian Gulf.
